The property borders the Nantahala National Forest. The 180-foot multiple cascades of Glen Falls are located down a short trail that starts 1/4 mile from the house. A 45-minute hike along a separate trail leads to the top of Chinquapin Mountain, for rocky overlooks
over the Blue Valley.
